Take product work from a clear user need to a verified production release across Guardian's full web stack. You will build interfaces and services together, design safe data changes, integrate files and communications, test critical paths, and troubleshoot issues that cross application boundaries.
What you will do
- Build responsive React and Next.js interfaces plus the APIs and server workflows that support them.
- Design PostgreSQL schemas and migrations with validation, authentication, authorization, and audit needs in mind.
- Implement secure file storage, email or calendar integrations, background jobs, and third-party API connections.
- Write tests for critical behavior and verify accessibility, loading, error, permission, and mobile states.
- Maintain CI/CD, environment configuration, deployment health checks, logs, and production troubleshooting runbooks.
- Review code, document decisions, and collaborate with product and operations from discovery through release.
What we are looking for
- At least three years delivering production features across both frontend and backend layers.
- Strong JavaScript or TypeScript, React, API design, SQL, Git, debugging, and web-security fundamentals.
- Experience with authentication, role permissions, form validation, database migrations, and external integrations.
- Ability to trace a failure across browser, server, database, configuration, and deployment boundaries.
- A portfolio or repositories that identify your end-to-end architecture and individual contribution.
Helpful, but not required
- Next.js, Tailwind CSS, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Supabase, and Railway experience
- Secure upload, transactional email, calendar, webhook, queue, or audit-log implementation
- Accessibility testing, automated tests, Docker, monitoring, and CI/CD experience
